Each month we will try to feature an artist who we relate to in the world of surf art, surf music, or any artist who inspires us in any way…! We are open to suggestions for our feature artists. Anyone from an awesome surf / landscape / nature artist like Heather Brown or Maia Negre, to a musical inspiration, like John Cruz or Bruddah Iz, ie. Israel Kamakawiwo’ole !
Meet The Artist
We are proud to feature Brian Banash as our feature artist ! We first fell in love with Brian’s art when Humu Surf started up in Leucadia, CA. and we started frequenting Le Papagayo for its cool vibe, great food, and nightly live music. But we also noticed the great surf inspired and blues inspired art on the walls behind the musicians and in the dining rooms.
Brian Banash is a native Californian born in San Pedro in 1970 and raised in Irvine, CA. Brian earned his BFA for Visual Communication & Graphic Design. His current residence is in Cardiff by the Sea, California where he is a graphic designer and illustrator. He has been traveling as a freelance designer and artist for 14 years and incorporates his interests in deep blues, surfing, good beer and fine dining into his lifestyle and work at his company, Sierra Coast Design.
